The Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF) 2020–25, provides a five-year roadmap to position exports as the main driver of economic growth through enhanced competitiveness, diversification, and integration into global value chains. It identifies priority sectors such as textiles, leather, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and processed foods, while setting guiding principles including export-friendly taxation, competitive energy pricing, simplified incentive systems, and strengthened institutional coordination. The framework outlines key reforms such as tariff rationalization, establishment of a National Single Window for trade facilitation, creation of new governance bodies for export oversight, and sector-specific policies including textiles and e-commerce. It also emphasizes post-COVID-19 export opportunities, improved quality and standards infrastructure, and expanded use of trade agreements. Implementation is supported through detailed action plans, public–private coordination, capacity building, and strengthened monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective execution across federal and provincial levels.
