Pakistan Export Strategy: Meat (2023-2027).

Pakistan’s Meat Export Strategy 2023–2027 sets a five‑year action plan to expand meat exports by aligning with national trade frameworks, analysing global demand trends, diagnosing domestic value‑chain constraints (notably low yields, limited traceability and Foot and mouth disease (FMD)‑related market barriers), and pursuing three objectives—competitive raw material, disease‑free and traceable livestock and improved market access—through measures such as cross‑breeding, feed and fodder development, tagging systems, FMD control, regulatory updates and targeted market development, with implementation led by a public–private Sector Specific Council under the Ministry of Commerce and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and phased reforms prioritising short‑term access conditions, medium‑term feedlot and processing investments, and longer‑term diversification into frozen, boneless and processed meat products for Asian, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and higher‑value markets.
