This Act concerns use of explosives. The Act prohibits anyone from exploding any explosives or handling and placing explosives in the Northwest Territories without a permit issued by the competent authority. The Act provides for: exceptions in accordance with the regulations made under the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1998; form of application for permit; statement of experience as an assistant to a holder of a permit; age limitation; report to inspectors; report of any accident and role of inspectors; offences and punishment; imposition of fines.
