This Emergency Action Plan establishes the national measures necessary to maintain a high level of awareness, preparedness, and environmental protection in areas free from Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), and to ensure an effective response in the event of an outbreak. The Plan provides for the timely mobilization of all required resources, equipment, personnel, and other materials to facilitate the rapid containment and eradication of PPR, promotes cooperation with neighboring countries, and sets out national preparedness and awareness measures. It also provides for the implementation of animal culling and carcass disposal procedures in accordance with the Regulation on protection and fight against rinderpest (cattle, sheep and goat plague), bluetong virus, epizootic haemorrhagic disease, sheep and goat pox, vesicular stomatitis, exanthema nodularis bovis, African swine fever, classical swine fever, Rift Valley fever, at locations designated by the Ministry. Following its adoption and publication, the Plan shall apply in PPR-free areas identified and officially declared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
