This Resolution approves the guidelines for Guinea-Bissau’s Third National Development Plan (PND III) for the period 2015-2020. The principal objective of the Plan is to establish a strategic framework for national development based on political and institutional stability, sustainable economic growth, job creation and the conservation of biodiversity. The Plan seeks to improve living standards by diversifying the economy, strengthening macroeconomic management, promoting industrialisation, and supporting the development of key productive sectors including agriculture, fisheries, mining and tourism. It also prioritises infrastructure development in transport, energy, telecommunications and water services to enhance national competitiveness and economic integration. The Plan further aims to advance human development and social inclusion through major investments in education, healthcare, social protection and urban development. Its objectives include expanding access to quality education and health services, improving support for women, children and other vulnerable groups, reducing poverty, promoting youth employment and strengthening public institutions and good governance. The strategy also encourages balanced regional development, improved urban planning, environmental sustainability and greater private-sector participation, with the overall goal of creating the conditions necessary for long-term, inclusive and sustainable development in Guinea-Bissau.
