Decree No. 11.372 establishing the State Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation and Forest Fires in Acre (PPCDQ-AC) for the period 2023–2027.

This Decree establishes the State Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation and Forest Fires in Acre (PPCDQ-AC) 2023-2027, with the principal objective of reducing deforestation, degradation of native vegetation, wildfires and forest fires throughout the State. The Plan aims to conserve biodiversity, maintain ecosystem services and strengthen environmental management through coordinated action by government institutions and society. It is aligned with federal environmental and climate policies, as well as Acre’s sustainable development strategies, and seeks to promote a clean, fair and forest-based economy while achieving lasting reductions in deforestation rates. The Decree also establishes a governance framework for implementing, monitoring and periodically updating the Plan. It defines strategic, coordination and operational levels of management, assigns the Secretariat of State for the Environment (SEMA) a central coordinating role, and requires annual monitoring and reporting of results. The Plan sets measurable targets, including a significant reduction in deforestation by 2027, supported by actions relating to territorial and land-use planning, incentives for sustainable production systems, environmental enforcement, and governance improvements.
