Assam State Action Plan on Climate Change (ASAPCC 2.0) (2021 – 2030).

The Assam State Action Plan on Climate Change 2.0 (2021–2030) provides a framework for integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation into the development planning of Assam, aligning state priorities with India's National Action Plan on Climate Change, Nationally Determined Contributions, the Paris Agreement, and the Sustainable Development Goals. The Plan assesses observed climate trends and vulnerabilities across the state and identifies priority interventions in nine sectors, including agriculture, water resources, forests and biodiversity, energy, transport, human health, disaster management, sustainable habitats, and strategic knowledge. It establishes 198 adaptation and mitigation actions promoting climate-smart agriculture, sustainable water management, forest restoration, renewable energy, energy efficiency, resilient infrastructure, low-carbon transport, public health preparedness, and disaster-risk reduction. The Plan also emphasizes research, capacity building, climate information systems, vulnerability mapping, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms to strengthen evidence-based decision-making. Institutional coordination, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and diverse financing mechanisms are provided to support implementation and mainstream climate resilience and low-carbon development across the state.
