This Ministerial Decree designates the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources as the state institution under the Cabinet of Ministers responsible for: (a) implementing state policies on the exploration, management and protection of subsoil; (b) state management of mining; (c) geological study of mineral deposits; (d) managing protected geological sites; (e) research; (f) licensing exploration and mining activities; and (g) registration of mineral deposits.
