This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of demarcation of the functional areas in urban forests (park belts), area and boundaries thereof related to public protection forests. Park belts shall be established for recreational purpose and rehabilitation of environment. Area of the green belts within urban forests shall be established in proportion to the number of the population and shall be considered land area of the local municipal unit. Boundaries of the functional areas shall be delimited along compartment lines, along the boundaries of compartments and (or) forest mensuration subcompartments. Functional areas of the forests shall be shall be apportioned with a view of differentiation of management, protection, conservation and reproduction regime.
