The present Act lays down provisions relating to damages caused by flooding of the Red River in Manitoba. At the outside the Act contains a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein, such as, “artificial flooding”, “damage”, “economic loss”, “floodway”, “eligible property”, etc. The text consists of 16 sections divided into 5 Parts as follows: Definitions (1); Compensation for artificial flood damage and economic loss (2); Extreme spring floods – water storage on land (3); General provisions (4); Consequential amendment and coming into force (5).
