This Decision approves the Scheme to develop production and sale of “tra” catfish in the Mekong river delta. The main objectives of the Scheme are to: promote the advantages and high competitiveness of “tra” catfish rearing in the Mekong river delta in order to make “tra” catfish a stable export of the country; improve living conditions of farmers and fishermen in the Mekong river delta; etc. The Scheme, among other things, aims at: reorganizing the production and sale of “tra” catfish by forming high-yield rearing zones linked with processing establishments under local development planning; building and improving production infrastructures; and increasing the state management of and the application of advanced technologies to breed production, commercial rearing, feed production and treatment of the rearing environment to raise product quality.
