This Ordinance empowers the Governor to establish a Water Authority which shall be a body responsible for the management and supervision of the water supply system, waste water drainage system, irrigation works, and the inspection of private services. The Authority shall develop, control, conserve and distribute fairly the water resources of the Island and take care of sewerage. The Ordinance also concerns claims in respect of insufficiency of water and for compensation for damage. it also provides for the imposition of water supply and irrigation rates.
