This Ministerial Decree establishes administrative procedures for submittal, expertise and registration of geographic indications, denominations of the places of origin of commodities and guaranteed traditional products. The application shall be submitted to the State Intellectual Property Agency (AGEPI) by the applicant or his legal representative. The application shall be filled in state (Moldavian) language. Application must contain the following documentation: (a) application form; (b) technical specification of the product and its specific characteristics; and (c) document attesting registration of the place of origin of products. Technical specification must contain all the specific elements that shall be indicated on the label. Certificate of registration of geographic indications, denominations of the places of origin of commodities and guaranteed traditional products shall have the validity of 10 years and shall be subject to renewal.
