The present Act lays down provisions relating to supply of food in emergency situations. In particular, article 1 establishes that the purpose of the Act is to ensure an adequate supply of products in case of a supply crisis. The Institute for Agriculture and Food shall be responsible for the enactment of the present Act. The text - consisting of 17 articles – deals with the following aspects: empowerment, execution of the Act, tasks of the Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food, publication of and access to relevant information, compensation, penalties and entry into force.
