The present Regulation is made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. In particular, the Regulation consolidates eleven of 12 designated substance Regulations into one Designated Substances Regulation. The Regulations were combined to make compliance easier for employers who can now consult two Regulations instead of twelve. The text -consisting of 32 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: general, application, employer duties, assessment and control programme, medical examinations and clinical tests. Two Schedules are enclosed.
