The Governor decrees that Regional forest and fire safety ministry shall be executive public body conducting on the regional territory state policy, management and regulation in the sphere of forestry sector, forest industry and, to the extent of its competence, ensuring fire safety and protection of the population and territory against emergencies and disasters of municipal and regional levels. The Ministry shall be responsible for protection of public forest (forest fund), reforestation, guardianship of forests and protection thereof against forest fires.
