This Governmental Decree validates the Strategy for promotion of hydrometeorological activity for the period 2013-2017 with a view of preparating hydrometeorological information, forecast and prevention of natural phenomena and calamities, organization of network of hydrometeorological and meteorological observations, international cooperation aimed at exchange and joint utilization of information. The main objectives of hydrometeorological service shall be set forth as follows: (a) protection of the population and territory against natural phenomena and disasters; and (b) granting access to hydrometeorological and ecological information.
