This Recommendation of the North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC), made pursuant to Article 5 of the NEAC Convention, provides a framework for the implementation of a new Electronic Reporting System (ERS) based on the FLUX UN/CEFACT Standard by NEAFC, including provisions for a transition period. When the new ERS becomes operational the specifications set out in Annexes 1 and 2 of this Recommendation enters into force for the transmission of recordings in electronic fishing logbooks to the NEAFC Secretary. After the transition period the current NEAFC Scheme of Control and Enforcement shall cease to apply and only the New Scheme of Control and Enforcement outlined in Annexes 1 and 2 shall apply. An ERS Implementation Group organised under the Permanent Committee on Monitoring and Compliance (PECMAC) is established to finalise technical documentation.
