Sanitation Standard for General Foods.

This Standard is prescribed in accordance with the provisions of Article 17 and the second paragraph of Article 15 of the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. The maximum levels of metals, mycotoxins, other contaminants and toxins in foods, except as foods which have their own sanitation standards, shall meet the “Sanitation Standard for Contaminants and Toxins in Food” (Art. 4). Article 5 provides for the maximum level of microorganism for general foods. Infant formula, follow-up infant formula, infant formula for special medical purposes and cereal based foods for infants not more than 12 months of age, residue pesticide shall not be more than 0.01 ppm.
