This Action Plan aims at achieving a responsible use of antibiotics in agriculture and livestock management, and identifies three ares of application, with related goals and targeted actions: 1) medicines and medicated feeds for veterinary purposes; 2) awareness of the use of antibiotics, through training, consulting and dissemination of information; 3) anti-microbial resistance monitoring and scientific and applied research. The Action Plan focuses on the following measures: production and marketing of high quality, safe and effective medicines and medicated feeds; organising professional conferences, information days, upgrading courses, and increasing publications on the reasonable use of antibiotics; strengthening research and monitoring activities.
