Agrologists Act, RSPEI 1988, c A-10.

The present Act establishes the Prince Edward Island Institute of Agrologists as a body corporate. The objectives of the Institute are to promote and increase the knowledge, skill and proficiency of its members in the practice of agrology; to do all things that may be necessary or incidental or conducive to the usefulness of agrologists to the public; and to ensure to the public the proficiency and competency of agrologists. Under section 17 a person is eligible for membership in the Institute if he appears before and satisfies the council that he has obtained a degree in agriculture from a university or college recognized by the council, or has obtained a degree and has passed such examinations as the council after evaluating his degree and his subsequent experience, considers necessary to establish that his qualifications are equivalent and satisfies the council that he has been engaged in agrology in a professional or other capacity. A person that does not comply with this may obtain a permit from the council paying a fee if the Council is of the opinion that the person has adequate training or experience to perform in a certain specified field of agrology.
