SADC Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan.

The SADC Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan provides a framework for harmonized regional and national actions to address climate change impacts and promote low-carbon development in Southern Africa. It includes adaptation strategies for vulnerable sectors (agriculture, water, biodiversity, fisheries, health, and human settlements); mitigation approaches (for energy, land use, agriculture, industry, waste, and transport); means of implementation covering finance, capacity building, technology transfer, communication, and institutional arrangements. It also establishes an action plan with specific interventions, timelines and cost estimates The strategy aims to build climate resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support sustainable development in the SADC region. It is aligned with global and continental climate objectives and complements existing SADC protocols and policies.
