National Strategy to accelerate Stunting Prevention 2018-2024.

This National Strategy, addressing child malnutrition leading to stunted growth in children, aims at reducing national stunting prevalence, through multisectoral interventions including: iron supplements, exclusive breastfeeding promotion, growth monitoring, sanitation, early childhood education, clean water supply. The Strategy is based on the following five pillars: 1) leadership commitment, with annual stunting forums involving local communities; 2) national campaign and behaviour change, focusing on: promoting awareness on nutrition, hygiene and child feeding practices; 3) programme convergence, integrating central, regional, and village-level programmes with prioritised interventions in high-risk districts through data-based planning; 4) food and nutrition security, enhancing access to fortified foods, social assistance, and sustainable household food zones; 5) monitoring and evaluation, with reports, performance assessments, and annual progress.
