Ten-Year Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) Strategic Plan.

The Ten‑Year Community‑Based Forest Management (CBFM) Strategic Plan of the Philippines, is providing a comprehensive framework for the sustainable and equitable management of forest ecosystems through community participation. It builds on earlier CBFM policies and plans, recognising CBFM as the national strategy for forest conservation and development and emphasising the role of local communities, including indigenous peoples, as key stewards of forest resources. The plan defines objectives to improve socio‑economic conditions, uphold community and indigenous rights, and promote sustainable use, conservation, and rehabilitation of forestlands. It identifies major strategies such as community development planning, capacity‑building, livelihood and enterprise development, and climate‑resilient forest ecosystem management. The document aligns with national and international frameworks, including climate change strategies, biodiversity plans, and the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring policy coherence across sectors. Implementation relies on participatory governance involving government agencies, local government units, people’s organisations, and other stakeholders, supported by monitoring frameworks and institutional coordination mechanisms.
