Regulation No. 477/2016 on specific rules for official controls on trichinella in meat.

This Regulation incorporates into Icelandic law a series of EU regulations establishing detailed requirements for the official inspection and testing of meat for Trichinella parasites. It designates the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority and municipal health committees as the competent authorities responsible for enforcement, and applies the penalties provided under Icelandic food legislation for violations. The regulation thereby provides the legal framework for official monitoring, sampling, testing and control measures aimed at preventing trichinellosis in meat.
