This Law regulates the objectives and organization, conditions, methods of financing and encouraging innovation activities in order to improve the innovation system through the development of innovation capacities and innovation infrastructure, for the needs of the economic development of the Republic of Srpska, the establishment, status, activities, organization, financing and method of using the funds of the Fund for Innovation Activities of the Republic of Srpska, as well as other issues of importance for innovation activities. Innovation activities, within the meaning of this Law, represent a set of activities of republican bodies and bodies of local self-government units, the business sector, the scientific and academic community, the civil sector and citizens, the aim of which is the modernization of the economy, the development and application of product and process innovations, the use of innovative production technologies, the introduction of new business models and the like, as well as the development of capacities and infrastructure for the aforementioned activities.
