Harbours (Amendment) Act 2025

The Harbours (Amendment) Act 2025 amends the Harbours Act (Chapter 240) in relation to essential port services and licensing requirements within the port service industry. The Act revises the definition of “essential port service” to include the provision of port facilities for loading or unloading vessels at any port and the provision of berths and berth reservation services for vessels at any port. It further amends Section 25B by replacing the existing licensing provision and specifying that a licence is required for operations involving the provision of port facilities for loading or unloading vessels and the provision of berths and berth reservation services for vessels at any port. The Act provides that it will come into operation in accordance with a notice published in the National Gazette by the Head of State acting on the advice of the Minister.
