Regional Legislative Decree No. 14/97/A, modifying Regional Legislative Decree No. 2/83/A establishing norms concerning the preservation of ecological balance, namely through the halting of indiscriminate hunting of dolphins and porpoises which visit the Azores seas.

This Legislative Decree envisages to end abuses against nature and preserve the ecological balance, it also establishes sea mammal protection in specified areas.
