This Act prohibits the sale and lease of appliances that are not in compliance with the prescribed efficiency standards and do not meet the prescribed labelling requirements. Along with these general prohibitions, the Act regulates inspection activities and contains provisions on enforcement and penalties. Under the Act, the Lieutenant Governor is empowered to pass regulations necessary for the implementation of the Act.
