Application for the classification of forest estate by the category of protection and transfer of protection forests from one category to another shall be filed by the ministries concerned, state institutions and public associations and regional forest management institutions. Federal Forest Service shall examine the application and shall make decision within two months from the date of submittal. Protection forests shall be classified in the following categories: (a) bank protection forest belt; (b) spawning area protection belt; (c) gorge forest; (d) public protection forest belt; (e) sanitary protection forest; (f) urban forests; and (g) forests of protected areas.
