The present Law lays down provisions relating to the protection, fostering and hunting of wild living animals in the Land of Thüringen. Article 1 establishes that wild animals are an essential part of the local environment and as such it has to be conserved as part of the natural general environment. The text consists of 61 articles divided into 11 Parts as follows : Principles (I) ; Hunting districts and fostering communities (II); Participation of third parties in huntin grights (III); Protection of game and its living space (IV); Hunting and promotion of hunting activities (V); Protection of hunters (VI); Hunting licence (VII); Trade in game (VIII); Organization, competent authorities, administrative proceedings (IX); Penalties; Transitional and final provisions (XI).
