This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities for procuring, delivering, storing and distributing of seeds from the federal stock of agricultural crop seeds, which shall be provided to regions that do not produce their own stock of seeds, to natural and legal persons producing agricultural commodities and to the population in case of emergencies and natural disasters. Seeds of national origin shall be purchased for the federal stock of agricultural crop seeds. Seeds of foreign origin may be purchased if the same species of national origin is unavailable, insufficient or economically inadvisable. The Ministry of Agriculture shall be the authorized institution responsible for setting up and managing the federal stock of agricultural crop seeds.
