The present Act lays down provisions relating to loans to assist fishermen engaged in a primary fishing enterprise. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as, “application”, “borrower”, “machine”, “fish”, “fisherman”, “fishing equipment”, “fishing vessel”, “primary fishing enterprise”. “guaranteed loan”, etc. The text - consisting of 14 sections - deals with the following matters: guaranteed loans, Regulations, special powers of a bank, offences and punishment
