This Act provides for the management and conservation of fisheries resources in Brunei Darussalam. The Act appoints a Director of Fisheries and a Deputy Director of Fisheries who shall authorize any officer to carry out the provisions of this Act. Powers of Authorized Officers will include: stop, search and detain any vessel or vehicle used for fishing or carrying fish contrary to the provisions of this Act; search and examine fishing gear; etc. The Act further provides for: regulation making powers of the Minister relating to fishing and fisheries; powers of licensing officers and issuance of licences; offences and penalties; etc.
