This Act provides that all private forests in the State of Kerala be vested in the Government and the land distributed to agricultural workers as agricultural land on registry or lease. No compensation will be payable for the vesting in the Government of any private forest. The Act further provides for: eviction of persons in unauthorized occupation; constitution of Tribunals; settlement of disputes; appeals; constitution of Agriculturists Welfare Fund; rule making powers of the Government; etc.
