This Act contains transitional provisions regarding financial arrangements in consequence of the enactment of the Rural Industries Research Act 1985. It also amends existing legislation and repeals legislation including the Chicken Meat Research Act 1969, the Dairying Research Act 1972, the Dairying Research Amendment Act 1981, the Dried Fruits Research Act 1971, the Honey Research Act 1980, the Pig Industry Research Act 1971, the Tobacco Industry Act 1955, the Tobacco Industry Act 1965 and the Wheat Research Act 1957.
