This Law regulates production of, trade in and storage of biofuels and other renewable fuels, use of biofuels in transport, adoption of programmes and plans for the promotion of production and use of biofuels in transport, powers and responsibilities for establishment and implementation of the policy aimed at promoting production and use of biofuels in transport, as well as the measures to stimulate production and use of biofuels in transport. This Law aims at achieving the targets of sustainable development in the transport sector: reduction of the negative impacts on the environment, improvement of environmentally friendly security of supply, meeting the consumers’ needs for fuel and fulfilment of international obligations of the Republic of Croatia in the area of reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by stimulating production and use of biofuels in transport as replacement for diesel or petrol.
