The scope of this Methodical Instruction shall be to set forth methodological basis for assessment of losses of natural gas in the process of transportation thereof through main gas pipelines technologically linked with the adopted scheme and technology of transportation process. This Methodical Instruction can be used for calculation and substantiation of technological losses by transportation and distribution organizations for elaboration of applications substantiating technological losses. It contains calculation formulae applicable to technological losses of natural gas. Technological losses shall be classified as follows: (a) caused by the infringement of legislative rules and regulations applicable to transportation and distribution of natural gas; (b) caused by accident recovery work; (c) losses in the process of maintenance and testing operations; (d) quantity of natural gas used for owner’s and municipal needs; and (e) losses caused by plundering.
