This Law, consisting of 6 articles, establishes guidelines for policies supporting urban and peri-urban agriculture within the Federal District. These policies aim at: promoting the production of products for consumption, donation or trade; income generating activities; promoting preservation and rehabilitation of environment; promoting the use of agro-ecological technologies; stimulating re-exploitation and recycling of residues; promoting environmental education; guaranteeing food security; stimulating food healthy habits; etc.
