The purpose of this Protocol is to ensure Vietnam rice is exporedt safely into China, to prevent the introduction of pests and protect the health of plants and animals. The Vietnamese side shall carry out strict quarantine with the rice exported to China in accordance with the requirements of the Protocol, to ensure rice exported to China do not contain the quarantine pests China is concerned about. Each batch of rice for export shall have a plant quarantine certificate which proves that it meets Chinese plant quarantine requirements, and specifies the specific production origin. Remaining Articles make provision, inter alia, requirements on pest monitoring, prevention and control, and rules for processing, labeling and packaging of rice exported to China. The validity of this Agreement is 3 years, renewable.
