These Measures, consisting of 26 articles, are formulated to strengthen the management and protection of military submarine cables. The Measures are applicable to the investigation, survey, laying, maintenance, protection and other related activities of military submarine cables in such areas as the inland sea, the territorial sea and the continental shelf of the People's Republic of China. The Measures provide for the requirements for the application, examination, approval of activities relevant to the military submarine cables. The Measures further provide for the protection of the military submarine cables, and supervision, inspection, offences and penalties, etc.
