This Part of Division 6 of the Water Code of California concerns monitoring of groundwater resources by specified public entities. Any entity that seeks to assume groundwater monitoring functions in accordance with this part shall notify the Department of Water Resources. The Department shall work cooperatively with each monitoring entity to determine the manner in which groundwater elevation information should be reported to the Department pursuant to this Part.
