The purpose of these Provisions is to strengthen the management of environmental statistics and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of environmental statistics. The Measures consist of 32 Articles divided into 6 Chapters: General Matters (I); Environmental Statistics Agencies and Personnel, (II); Environmental Statistics Survey System (III); Management and Publication of Environmental Statistics (IV); Rewards and Penalties (V); and Supplementary Provisions (VI). The local administrative departments of environmental protection at or above the county level shall determine the agency responsible for the environmental statistical functions, set up positions and personnel. Environmental protection administrative departments at all levels must formulate environmental statistical survey plans in advance when developing environmental statistical investigation projects.
