This Law, consisting of 11 articles, establishes guidelines for implementing the Production Lines Programme within the State of Maranhão. The Programme has the following objectives: implement artificial insemination as a tool for genetic improvement of cattle; reduce dependence on climate and the impacts of drought periods; implement low-cost, innovative and sustainable technology adapted to small rural producers; implement the production and use of bio-fertilizers, as a tool to improve the productivity of the horticulture industry, promoting sustainability and food security; encourage crop-livestock-forestry integration; implement the integrated production system; promote harmonious coexistence with the environment and sustainable food production, etc. The Public Power will be responsible for the management of the Production Lines Programme, and may sign an agreement with care entities and educational institutions, in order to provide related technical assistance.
