These Measures, consisting of 16 Articles, are enacted to standardize the management of natural resources statistics, establish a sound statistical data quality control system and improve the authenticity of natural resources statistical data. These Measures shall apply to competent natural resources authorities above the county level (including competent marine authorities in coastal areas) and enterprises and institutions engaged in natural resource-related activities to carry out natural resource statistics. The main task of natural resources statistics is to carry out statistical investigation and Analysis on natural resources such as land, minerals, forests, grasslands, wetlands, marine waters, sea islands, as well as marine economy, geological exploration, geological disasters, surveying and mapping geographic information, natural resources supervision and administrative management, and to provide statistical data and implement statistical supervision. According to the regulations of the statistical investigation system, the statistical data shall be published regularly. The publishing institution shall be responsible for the authenticity of statistical data.
