The present Government Decree applies to support granted for restoration and management of habitats of conservation interest. The purpose is to promote the ecological status of vegetation, flora, and fauna characteristic of these habitats through restoration and management measures, as well as to safeguard and enhance their landscape values. It it is concerned specifically with "vårdbiotop", which refers to habitat types shaped by traditional livestock grazing and mowing practices, within which a diversity of characteristic species has developed, and habitats where similar species have evolved in a comparable manner. The Decree contains specific provisions on procedural matters, conditions and limitations for granting support, basis of calculation and amount of support, notification and conservation obligation, among other matters.
