This Part provides for: defining Policies and procedures for furnishing technical assistance in soil and water conservation operations; utilising models and equations to predict soil erosion due to water and wind; establishing and using the advice of State Technical Committees of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to make recommendations relating to the implementation and technical aspects of natural resource conservation activities; defining Policies and programmes for conservation of private lands used for grazing. The Part focuses on programmes for: reducing soil erosion, solving soil, water, and agricultural waste management problems, reducing damage caused by excess water and sedimentation, enhancing the quality of fish and wildlife habitat, improving all agricultural lands; technical assistance to farmers and other land users; evaluation of soil, water, vegetation, and other resource data needed for making land use, environmental and conservation treatment decisions; membership, meetings and responsibilities of State Technical Committee.
