Regional Strategic Action Plan on Integrated Water Resources Development and Management (2011-2015) RSAP III.

The Regional Strategic Action Plan (RSAP) III serves as a work plan to guide the development and implementation of activities in the SADC water sector over the next five years (2011-2015). The RSAP is grounded in the SADC vision and the Southern African Vision on Water, Life, and Environment. As such, it aims to provide a reliable and effective framework that contributes to poverty reduction, regional integration, peace and security, and socio-economic development. The goal of RSAP III is to enhance the enabling environment for regional water resource governance, management, and development by applying integrated water resources management at the regional, river basin, Member State, and community levels. The RSAP consists of 15 programmes, each contributing to the achievement of the RSAP strategic and operational objectives in including river basin organisations, communication and awareness raising, research and education, stakeholder participation, infrastructure development, water supply and sanitation, groundwater management, environmental water management, and climate change adaptation.
