This Act provides financial assistance to professional fishermen, hunters, and farmers who suffer work-related losses due to property damage, loss of equipment, illness, or incapacity. The government (Landsstyret) may also grant support in exceptional cases caused by climatic conditions or other professional hardships. Applications must include documentation of economic circumstances and damages, and payments—ranging from DKK 2,000 to 25,000—are typically one-time grants, though higher amounts may be approved in special situations. Recipients must report how the funds are used and may have to repay the aid if they later receive overlapping compensation or if the grant was obtained unlawfully. The costs are covered by the national budget.
