This Act provides for promotion of economic growth, entrepreneurship and employment generation, specifically for Micro, Small and Medium enterprises in the state of Jharkhand. The nodal agency at the state level and district level are appointed, and their powers and functions are laid down. The procedure for any person intending to start an enterprise is described, and the nodal agency is required to issue an Acknowledgement Certificate, in such form as may be prescribed. This certificate shall have effect for a period of three years from the date of its issuance till the date of commencement of commercial production or operation, whichever is earlier. The enterprise will be exempt from seeking approvals and registrations except those mentioned in the schedule to the Act.
